Who should attend: Any officer who in the course of their duties may be first on scene at a sexual assault investigation.

This webinar will provide a brief overview of what the first responding officer will encounter at the scene of a sexual assault.

1. Accurately describe how an officer’s mannerisms and demeanor can influence a victim.
2. Discuss why First Impressions matter in a sex crimes investigation.
3. Define elements of trauma-informed interviewing.
4. Identify the duties and responsibilities of the first responding officer.
5. Identify special considerations at a sexual assault crime scene.
