Brief Description: To certify the student as an NCJA Authorized Instructor to teach Officer Safety and Survival Tactics

Full Description: Who should Attend:
This course is designed for agency trainers and training academy instructors wishing to teach
Officer Safety and Survival Tactics.

Course Description:
At the completion of this train-the-trainer course, the student will be an NCJA Authorized Instructor and will be certified to deliver Officer Safety and Survival Tactics. The course will cover teaching strategies, teaching methodology, managing practical exercises, and scheduling/reporting requirements when offering the course as an NCJA Authorized Instructor.

The student will receive a digital copy of the course presentation and all printed materials needed to conduct training.

Course Requirements:
The student must teach a block of the Officer Safety and Survival Course, score an 80% or better on the Post-Test for Officer Safety and Survival, complete all practical exercises in the course, and attend 100% of the course.

Prerequisites: CPR Certification
Student must have successfully completed the 40-hour Officer Safety and Survival Tactics Course.

Students must hold a current General Instructor Certification issued by the State of North Carolina (Not a community college completion certification or from another state). Probationary General Instructor Certifications are permitted.

Resources Required: Officers will need to bring their duty gear, including a full duty belt, weapon, and ballistic vest.
flashlight, rain, and appropriate
weather gear, civilian clothes for role-playing, and a police vehicle.
