Prerequisites:
Current IPMBA membership; law enforcement officer, EMS provider, or security officer; completion of the IPMBA PC/EMSC/SC Course or alternate course of instruction.

Who Should Attend:
All LE, EMS provider or security officer who have completed the IPMBA PC/EMSC/SC Course or alternate course of instruction. Must have current IPMBA membership.

Course Description and Objectives:
Students will gain an understanding of how bicycle response teams can be utilized for
maintaining order and dispersing crowds. They will become familiar with the unique
circumstances surrounding the formation, training and deployment of a Bicycle Response Team (BRT).

The training covers:

The basic formations utilized by Bicycle Response Teams (BRTs).
The functions of team formations and how to apply them to BRT responses.
Rolling Formations utilized by Bicycle Response Teams.
Basic functions of team Rolling Formations and tactics and how to apply them to individual BRT responses.

Whether you are preparing for political events, parties and raves, or just
expecting your team to make it to the championship, this course will prepare you to
manage your crowds and ensure prompt patient care in crowd situations.

Practical exercises include formations, single- and double-column riding, arrest/rescue
techniques, squad withdrawal, and gas mask drills, complete with smoke and noise!

Testing and Assignment Information:
IPMBA BRTT Certificate of Completion is available to those who:
-Score a minimum of 76% on the written test.
-Participate actively and competently in all on-bike exercises, skill stations, and scenarios.
-Miss no more than 10% of the class time.
-Be a member of or join IPMBA.
-Submit the certificate application and fee.
