Who Should Attend:
Criminal justice supervisors tasked with the responsibility of supervising their agency’s field training program.

Course Goals:
To provide knowledge and skills needed to effectively supervise a field training program.

Course Objectives:
The student will be able to:
- Differentiate between the FTO/PTO field training programs.
- Recognize civil liability issues for FTO/PTO programs.
- Effectively supervise and manage a field training program.
- Properly select new field training officers.
- Utilize proper evaluation and documentation procedures.
- Identify trainee learning preferences and teaching   strategies.
- Recognize and recommend remedial training strategies.

Methodologies:
This is a web-based course that employs self-guided learning utilizing on-line reading assignments, PowerPoint presentations, quizzes and a final examination.

Prerequisites
I have completed a 32-40 hour basic field training officer course OR I am a law enforcement supervisor currently tasked with the responsibilities of supervising field training programs.   And by checking the box I am affirming the above statement is correct.

Resources Required
Students should be familiar with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint software applications. A student must begin course work within three days of the course start date. In order to satisfactorily complete this course, the student must participate in all class activities and must obtain a minimum score of 70% on three quizzes as well as 75% on a final examination to be administered on-line at the conclusion of the course. One-hundred percent of required course activity must be completed within twenty days of the course start date.
